This is a comment diary. Wondering who saw Letterman tonight and his guest Pam Stout, president of the Sandpoint, Idaho Tea Party Patriots....
She certainly presented as a reasonable lady who probably bakes a nice pie but she had little to offer beyond "we need businesses" (ok...) and when Letterman laid the bait about Barack Obama's citizenship she just couldn't lay off, saying the issue is irrelevant (good...)...but...he'd "spent millions concealing his documentation" and she'd like to see it.
Also she seems to be under the impression that welfare is something the poor enjoy and aspire too.
Oh yeah and... Glenn Beck "makes her think."
A good question from Letterman: "Where were you during the previous administration?"
Also she allowed that much of the TARP loans have been paid back by large banks and automakers but "not by individuals." Don't know who the heck she's referring to there.
All of this delivered with a sweet smile and I just couldn't tell if I was listening to a sweet, albeit misguided, woman or the soothing voice of evil (I say "evil" with tongue in cheek).
I was left scratching my head.
